A Wiener Dog Advent is a story about different worlds. Although some of the worlds depicted may appear familiar, none of them are likely to be the world in which you live. Some are very different, and some are subtly so.
A few things to keep you from becoming too confused: The days of the month in the story fall on different days of the week than ours do in the year 2011. Pete, Brittany, George and their families are Catholic. The school they attend is a Catholic school. In our world, however, the excellent school on the south side of Hong Kong Island is not a Catholic school; it is Lutheran. You get the idea. You will find many other slight differences. I am not wrong. I am simply writing about another world. That will make more sense sometime around Dec. 20.
Some of the characters may at times remind you of certain members of my family, or they remind you of my friends, but I assure you that none of these people I am writing about dwell in the world in which I live. Any resemblance is purely a coincidence.
